For those of us inspired by the grandeur of raw nature Alaska may be the greatest of American getaways. From the towering majesty of  Denali to the glistening fjords and massive glaciers, Alaska’s scenery is often jaw dropping. It is a state where the eagles, moose and caribou often seem to outnumber the people. The beautiful coastal towns of the southwest passage are in stark contrast to the rugged frontier towns of the interior such as Fairbanks. Anchorage sits as a rare modern city on the Cook Inlet and Homer, Kodiak and Seward offer fantastic fishing and wildlife viewing.
