Delaware
The First State
Delaware was America’s first state and sits on a peninsula marked by dune backed beaches bordering the Atlantic Ocean. Its eastern side is packed with fun coastal towns, grand mansions and lush gardens adorning the countryside. Dewey and Rehoboth Beach feature natural sand dunes, amusement parks, great beaches and boardwalks. Bethany Beach also has a mile long boardwalk & beach, lighthouse, and Holts Landing State Park. Dover is the state capital and home to First Heritage Park, Biggs Museum of Art, and Legislative Hall. Lewes is the states oldest town and features the Zwaanendael Museum and Cape Henlopen State Park. Wilmington is known for its riverfront district, Hagley Museum, Nemours Estate and Winthur Museum. New Castle has cobblestone streets with brick sidewalks, a cental green and fascinating Dutch houses.
