The Keystone State

Pennsylvania is filled with historical sites and is famous for its role in American independence. The states natural beauty extends from Lake Erie to the Pocono mountains. It also contains over 2500 lakes and 280,000 acres of parks to enjoy. Philadelphia holds many iconic historical sites like the Independence National Historical Park with the Liberty Bell, the National Constitution Center and Museum of the American Revolution. Pittsburgh has three great Carnegie Museums,  the Phipps Conservatory and the Duquesne Incline Railway. Harrisburg is the state capital with the National Civil War Museum, the state museum and City Island. Lancaster is in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country with the Mennonite Center and Amish farms. Gettysburg is the site of the largest civil war battle with over 1400 monuments,markers and memorials along with a great museum. Hershey is a sweet destination for Chocolate World and Hershey Story Museum. Jim Thorpe holds the Pocono Mountains Visitors Center and LeHigh Gorge Scenic Railway.
