Virginia is for lovers of travel. For nature enthusiasts Shenandoah National Park is known for it’s Skyline Drive and mountain vistas. Chincoteague and Assateague Island National Seashore offer viewings of wild horses and long stretches of Atlantic beaches. For history buffs the state is full of Civil War sites and historic homes of eight former presidents. Richmond is the state capital and features a canal walk, Edgar Allen Poe Museum, American Civil War Center and Battlefield Park. Colonial Williamsburg is the nations largest outdoor living museum encompassing 300 acres and 500 restored buildings. Virginia Beach is the worlds longest pleasure beach with a oceanfront boardwalk, Virginia Aquarium and naval air station. Norfolk is home to Hampton Roads Naval Museum, the Chrysler Museum of Art and the Virginia Zoo.
